St. Thomas: Smooth Start with a Splash of Fun
I caught a direct flight from Miami to St. Thomas, and as soon as I grabbed my luggage, I hopped a taxi straight to the pier. The pier didn’t open until 2 PM, so I figured, why not kick things off at the casino bar? Sitting there with a refreshing beverage in hand was the perfect way to slide into island time. Once the gates opened, I was one of the first to board, quickly checked into my cabin (unpacking is a breeze when it’s just swimsuits and sundresses), and spent a perfect afternoon chilling on the pool deck with a glass of champagne in hand. That evening, it was off to Jost Van Dyke to keep the high vibes rolling.
Jost Van Dyke: Bubbles on the Beach
Next up, Jost Van Dyke, where I was all in for the champagne and caviar beach bash. Picture this: soft sand, a refreshing breeze, and a flute of the finest bubbly in hand—yes, it’s as glamorous as it sounds. And no visit is complete without a Painkiller cocktail from the Soggy Dollar Bar. It’s the island’s signature drink, and for good reason!
Anguilla: Fairways and Spicy Flavors
In Anguilla, there's a beautiful 27-hole golf course at the Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Course a beautiful place if you love to golf. You can book a round the day you're in port. Now, I'm not a golfer but I did stop by the resort and had lunch at C Level. The jerk wings were to die for. We explored the island on a private tour. My favorite spot we stopped was at the Arch.
Saint Barths: Nights to Remember
Oh, Saint Barths, you beauty! This island is the epitome of luxury. We docked overnight so had ample time on the island. I spent a night sleeping under the stars on one of SeaDream’s Balinese beds. There’s nothing like the sea air and a sky full of stars to lull you to sleep. Then, it was off to Nikki Beach where, I highly recommend dancing on the tables! Instead of dinner on the ship this evening we opted to have dinner at La Petite Plage... it was next-level amazing—every dish was a feast for the senses. The restaurant is walking distance from the dock.
Guadeloupe: Charming Streets and Sweet Treats
Guadeloupe was a charming stop for a leisurely day. I strolled through adorable streets, gelato in hand, popping into boutiques for some unique finds. The laid-back vibe was a perfect mid-cruise change of pace.
Antigua: Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice
I loved learning about Antigua’s rich history at the old sugar mills. The tours were not only educational but also visually stunning, set against lush green backdrops that are so vibrant, they almost don’t seem real.
Saint Maarten: Culinary Conquests and Thrilling Heights
Finally, Saint Maarten brought the trip to an exhilarating close. I whipped up Johnny cakes in a cooking class with Chef Jewel—talk about a tasty skill to bring home! And the Flying Dutchman zip line? It’s the steepest in the Caribbean, and I can vouch for the thrill—it’s heart-pounding in the best way!
